Google Research Language Explorer

Google Language explorer is a site to visualize and explore the world's languages.

We initially started the site using third party globe libraries but quickly found bumped into limitations. We pivoted to build the globe from scratch to optimize overall performance and retain full control over the desired shader effects. The site also uses the web audio API to implement dynamic reverb on the fly to simulate the sound of being in a room with a globe.
